“Trundling around with three stone less, so…
Three stone less.”

“That’s amazing.”
“Gosh, that’s good going.”

“So how long has that taken?”

“It has taken a while. It’s taken four years in all, but I didn’t start losing for about 18 months.”

“It took a long while for my brain to kick in and start working, but once it did, I was on a roll.”

“Yeah, so that is a fascinating thing — that it took 18 months for your body to start getting the message to release the fat. What do you think was holding it up? Was it because you had diabetes at that point?”

“Yes, yeah. I think it may have been a combination of diabetes and perhaps too much diet head.”

“But I had to get over… you know, I think everybody starts on SlimPod because they’re fed up with yo-yo dieting. This doesn’t work, this works — but then once you stop, then it goes back on, and more.”

“So I think it was just a combination of all that for me.”

“But once I just stopped and thought, you don’t need to be dieting. Just listen to your body. Listen to what it’s telling you. And once I started doing that, that was it.”

“I mean, I swapped salads for chips — not because I thought I should, but because I wanted to.”

“And you mean you swapped chips for salad?”

“Yes — sorry.”

“So how did you, if it was taking that length of time, how did you manage to stay patient and resilient? Did you just feel that something was bound to happen?”

“Yes, I did. I was looking at past posts on the Facebook group. You saw people with success stories and I thought, well, if it’s working for them, why isn’t it working for me? What am I doing wrong?”

“So I just went back to the beginning and started again, and just kept at it — and just relaxed.”

“And I think it was when I relaxed that things started to work. When I wasn’t pressuring myself, like, ‘Ooh, you shouldn’t have that muffin with a coffee,’ you know?”

“I’m thinking, well, why shouldn’t I? I think people have muffins with coffees, you know?”

“And then once I started to relax, that’s when it started to kick in. I started losing a couple of pounds and thought, oh — maybe this is working for me then.”

“That enabled me to relax a bit more. And then it started falling off.”

“But what kind of gave you the inspiration to just keep going? Because a lot of people would have said, ‘Oh, another thing that hasn’t worked.’”

“It was the fact that it was so easy.”

“So keep going — because I wasn’t on a diet, because I wasn’t restricting myself. It was just easy to listen to the pods, write my wins, watch the videos.”

“It was just so easy to keep going.”

“Wow. Amazing.”

“Especially when you weren’t seeing weight loss at first, but you were seeing other changes, weren’t you? All your food had changed and everything else.”

“Yes. So I knew eventually it must come off. It had to — because I’d changed the way I was eating. I just said, it willhappen.”

“Just be patient. Let your brain do the work. You don’t have to. Let the brain do the work.”
